Promoting enterprise is one of Harlow Council's key priorities. We aim to create a supportive environment for new and existing businesses, to promote Harlow as an ideal location for business and through our emergency planning team to help businesses prepare for a crisis. The Council works with its partners to ensure improved transport, housing, leisure and retail opportunities.

Harlow Council is working with the West Essex Alliance to promote economic prosperity by bringing together the private and public sectors to provide a voice to West Essex businesses. Through this partnership, Harlow awarded Enterprise Zone status in August 2011.
